Anne Middlebrook Bright

A celebration of the life of Anne Middlebrook Bright will be held at Cason Monk-Metcalf on Sunday afternoon, February 26, 2006. Visitation will be from 1:30 until 3:30 p.m. with graveside services to follow at 4 p.m. Welcoming her home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, along with a heavenly host of family and friends, will be her husband, N.G. Bright Jr., her parents, Dr. and Mrs. G.F. Middlebrook; her brother, George Middlebrook Jr. and wife, Emily; and nephew, Jay Norris Tucker. After graduating from Baylor University with a master¹s degree in English, she taught high school in Mission, San Antonio and Nacogdoches, Texas. She married N.G. Bright Jr. Oct. 13, 1946. She continued to teach school while supporting her husband with his business endeavors. When her children entered and attended NISD, she was elected to the school board. She was an active member of the First Christian Church and the Nacogdoches Heritage Club. Although involved in all these activities through the years, the happiness and well being of her husband, children, grandchildren, parents and siblings remained her priority. Loving us unconditionally, we, her sons, Fred Bright and wife, Linda, and Richard Bright and wife, Glinda; daughter, Merry Anne and husband, Larry Shelton; grandchildren, Allyson Bright, Jason Tignor, N.G. Schmidt, Charles Raymond Bright II, Dixie Rose Daniels, Andrew Bright and Brittany Bright; great-grandchildren, Ginger Bobo and Izzabella Daniels will miss our sweet and elegant "Mama Annie" more than words can ever express. Sharing our love for our mother are her devoted sisters, Leah Tucker, Ellen Sakach, Martha and husband, Dr. Edwin Gaston; sister-in-law, Joyce Swearingen and husband, Doug; brother-in-law, Charles Bright and wife, Lois Marie; nieces Dr. Brooke Tucker, Stephanie Unger, Sandra Tatum and Janet Kay Baxter. Nephews, Henry Middlebrook, Dr. Tom Middlebrook, Jeff Gaston, Tom Gaston, Kant Gaston, Vern Unger, James Swearingen, John Novel Swearingen; and first cousins, once removed, Lynn Holmes, Greg Holmes, Mac Porter and Bill Bailey will serve as active and honorary pallbearers. Uplifting the family with the Word of God will be pastors Rex Humphries, Terry Hodge and George Middlebrook III. Our mother¹s favorite hymn, "What a friend we have in Jesus", will be sung by Caneasha Mac. It should be said that while walking in the Spirit, Anne Middlebrook Bright loved all, was deeply loved by all, and is now as she has ever been, simply an Angel. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to your favorite charity or the First Christian Church, 702 N. Mound St., Nacogdoches, Texas. Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors.
