Kathleen was born on November 6, 1926 in Swift, Texas to Norman Alford Daniel and Mattie Mae Peacock Daniel, where she grew up on her family’s farm. She became a registered nurse in 1947 after graduating from the Houston Memorial Hospital Cadet Nursing Program. Kathleen worked beside her husband Bill for many years at his dental practice in Port Arthur, Texas, after which she was employed for many years as a Labor and Delivery nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital. She was a longtime resident of Groves, Texas before moving to North Carolina and New York with her daughter Susan, where she helped raise her granddaughter Danielle with patience and love. She made her final home with her daughter Carolyn in Austin and Round Rock, Texas.

She lived her 94 years of earthly life with selflessness, unconditional love for all, courage, humility, hope, and always a witty sense of humor.

Throughout her life, she prioritized serving others. She was a faithful Deacon, serving several terms at Freedom Plains Presbyterian Church in LaGrangeville, NY and Round Rock Presbyterian Church, where she was a current member. There, she was an Emmaus sponsor and a member of both the Horizon Bible Study and Ladies in Stitches, where she made many lovely blankets for children in need. In addition, she volunteered at the Round Rock Serving Center. She also made beautiful handmade quilts for all of her children and grandchildren, and said that hand-quilting made her feel peaceful. She enjoyed many travel adventures, reading, sewing, knitting and crocheting, gardening, playing cards, working jigsaw and crossword puzzles, and watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. She was tech-savvy, mastering her Apple iPhone like a pro. She loved football and her family relished hearing her holler “Woo-hoo!” when her favorite teams scored.

Kathleen was the most positive person, always looking for the good in others and providing a kind word and uplifting thought. Her faith was always important to her, and she lived a life glorifying God in both prayer and actions. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, taking great pride in all of their interests and accomplishments.

The later Mormacpenn, sponsored at launch by the wife of the General Counsel of the Maritime Commission, Mrs. Carl F.
