ETOILE - Services for Hoyt L. Cook, 81, Etoile, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors Sunset Chapel, Nacogdoches, with the Revs. Glenn Morton and Ronnie Frankens officiating.
Burial will be in Blue Springs Cemetery, Etoile.
Mr. Cook died Dec. 19, 2006, in Etoile. He was born Jan. 28, 1925, in Etoile to the late Amos and Etta Mae Morton Cook. He attended Etoile schools and graduated from G.I. Agricultural School. He worked for the county of Nacogdoches and as a heavy equipment operator in construction. He retired as a bus driver from Woden Independent School District in 1990. He was a member of Homer United Pentecostal Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3893, and Chireno Fox Hunters Association. He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Etta Pyle Cook, on May 6, 2004; son, Robert Gale Cook; and grandsons, Don Parker and Hoyt Wesley Cook.
Survivors include son, Elvin Cook, Etoile; daughters, Linda Whisenant and Julia Henson, both of Lufkin, Wanda Sue Pillows, Centralia/Apple Springs, Rhonda Cook, Willis, Gwenda Britt, Brenda Whitton and Glenda Jean Chambers, all of Etoile; stepdaughter, Barbara Holloway, Etoile; brothers, Neil Cook and Wayne Cook, both of Etoile; sisters, Lila Pyle, Apple Springs, and Darce Cook, Etoile; 30 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and other relatives.
Pallbearers are Larry Pyle, Jerry Pyle, Dwayne Davenport, Kenneth Wooten, Lawson Wooten and Darren Cook.
Honorary pallbearers are Dave Patterson, Corey Lowery, Jody Lowery, Lester Lowery, Elvin "Buddy: Lowery, Garvis Whitehead, Jackie Stewart, John Stricklen, Jachob Poulan and Chester Ables.
