Obituary for Mr. Armour Hays
Funeral services for Mr. Armour Hays, 92, of Laneville, will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 in the chapel of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Laneville Cemetery under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, December 16 at the funeral home.
Mr. Hays passed from this life on December 13, 2014 in Tyler. He was born November 29, 1922 in Laneville to the late Herman and Annie Phillips Hays. Armour served his country during World War II in the Army Air Corps as a flight officer. He later became a teacher and coach and was employed by Carlisle, Laneville, and Leveretts Chapel ISD. Mr. Hays was a member of First Baptist Church of Laneville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: wife, Peggy LePelley Hays; son, Jory Kyle Hays; and Jo Nita's mother, Meri Joyce Blair.
Survivors include: daughter, Jo Nita Knight of Bay City; grandchildren, Shawn Norman Wimberly, Louis Meyer Falk, Brian Hays Knight, and Haysley Syanne Alison; and niece, Debra Joyce York of Tyler.
Pallbearers will be Jack LePelley Jr., Gary Johnson, James Donald Bryan, Bobby Pirtle, Phil Pirtle, and Larry Martin. Honorary pallbearers will be Mervin Brady and Jess Hamilton.
