Mr. Louis G. Fears, age 92, passed away on March 6, 2015 at Oak Manor Nursing Home. He was born in Appleby, Texas on May 6, 1922 to parents Floyd and Pearl Fears.
Louis is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Warner Fears and Oliver Fears.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Eloise Fears of Nacogdoches; son, David Fears and wife Lana of Nacogdoches; daughter, Lisa K Fears of Longview; grandchildren, Nathan Louis Fears and wife Courtney of Forney, Tx, Amanda Lea Pettersen and husband Casey of Nacogdoches, Jonathan Loyd Fears of Nacogdoches; great grandchildren, Mason Lee Pettersen, Cody Parker Pettersen, Eloise Ruth Pettersen (who is scheduled to arrive on July 6); sisters, Ruby Nell Burt of Nacogdoches and Grace Amanda Cornelius of Houston.

Louis was a student of Martinsville High School and was drafted into the United States Army where he served 4 years during World War ll. After the war under the GI bill, Louis was attended Tyler Commercial College and was hired for his first job in the Port of Houston where he worked and retired after 30 years. Upon his retirement he and Eloise moved to Nacogdoches in 2008 to be near their son and family. They were members of North Street Church of Christ. Louis loved to work and could always be found doing something, but most of all he enjoyed his time working on his farm and raising cattle especially for Medina Children’s home. He loved spending time outside and cutting trees with his son. He was a good husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and will be missed by his family.

A private graveside service will be conducted on Monday, March 9, 2015 at Bethel Cemetery in Appleby, Texas with Rev. Bill Sherrill officiating.
