DREWRY DR. JAMES "MURPH", JR., 75, of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, died on Friday, November 1, 2002 after a courageous battle with cancer. Dr. Drewry was born November 3, 1926 to James Murph and Lillian Wood Drewry and spent his childhood in Nacogdoches, Texas. He served in the 21 st Infantry of the U. S. Army in WW II. Dr. Drewry attended Stephen F. Austin University, Texas A&M University Class of '47 and graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry Class of '54. As a fourth generation Texas dentist, he practiced in Dallas for 39 years. After retirement, Dr. Drewry was an avid golfer and loved being with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, George Wood Drewry. Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Josephine S. "Jody" Drewry of Hot Springs Village; sons, James M. "Chip" Drewry III and Michael S. Drewry and wife, Sabrina, all of San Antonio; daughters, Julie D. Carter and husband Michael of Dallas and Lynne D. Daughters and husband, David of Waco; 105 year old aunt, Bess Wood of Lufkin; and nine grandchildren. The Memorial Service will held be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 6, 2002 at Presbyterian Kirk in the Pines with Dr. Michael D. Seitz and Rev. Samuel H. Pope officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church memorial garden.
